About Us

About Salem County Women’s Services

Proudly serving Salem County, NJ with compassionate, community-based support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since 1987.

Our Story

Serving Salem County Survivors Since 1987

Our mission is to help survivors across Salem County find safety, support, and steady guidance during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Salem County Women’s Services was created to meet the growing need for local, survivor-centered support in communities across Salem County, New Jersey. Many individuals and families facing domestic violence or sexual assault were struggling to find confidential help, practical advocacy, and coordinated community resources close to home. Since 1987, the organization has focused on providing free support through crisis intervention, shelter assistance, counseling, legal advocacy, education, and referrals while working alongside local hospitals, police departments, and community partners. That long-standing local presence continues to give survivors and families a trusted place to turn when they need support that feels accessible, practical, and human.

Confidential Support

Reaching out for help can feel intimidating, especially during a crisis or uncertain situation. Every conversation is handled with care, privacy, and respect so people can explore options safely and at their own pace.

Accessible Help

People should not have to navigate complicated systems alone before they can ask for support. Free services, hotline access, referrals, counseling, and education help remove barriers that prevent people from reaching out.
